Surrey BC Canada Domestic Assault Lawyer's Notable Cases
Spousal Assault, Confinement And Other Offence Against An Intimate Partner 2018
Client charged with spousal assault, confinement, and uttering threats against his girlfriend. He worked out of town and had been arrested, released, and then a warrant was issued again by the Prosecutor to have him brought before the Court. Mr. Briggs was able to negotiate a plan to allow him to deal with the matter in a Provincial Court which was closest to where he was working and be released right away on conditions. Mr. Briggs then made legal submissions that the case was flawed and not provable by the Crown. Mr. Briggs was able to persuade the prosecution to accept a s. 810 ‘peace bond’ and the client had no criminal record as a result of the case.
Assault Allegations Made By Ex-girlfriend 2013
